H.E. Kamal also represents the State of Qatar as Governor to the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Arab Monetary Fund, the Islamic Development Bank, and the OPEC Fund.
The story of success is spread to more than three decades when he joined as section chief within the department of Financial Affairs, Ministry of Finance & Petroleum in 1973. After that he held many key posts in the ministry such as Director of Financial Affairs in 1988 and Under Secretary of Ministry of Finance, Economy & Commerce in 1993. He assumed his current post in 1998.
H.E. Kamal holds a B.A. in business administration from Cairo University and several public financial courses from the International Monetary Fund and various American Universities.
His Excellency, Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, Minister of State for International Co-operation
In 2008, Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah was appointed Minister of State for International Cooperation. Minister Al-Attiyah is responsible for representing Qatar to the global community by providing aid to international organizations and monitoring international decision-making process. In June 2009, His Highness the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani issued an Emiri Order further assigning the Minister of State for International Cooperation the tasks of the Minister of Business and Trade. Pursuant to his new role Minister Al-Attiyah supports various economic developments within the private sector ensuring that Qatar is capable of trading in the global economy. Minister Al-Attiyah earned two bachelor's degrees; the first one in Air Science from King Faisal Air Academic in 1987, and the second one in law from Beirut Arab University in 1993. He established a private legal practice in 1995 called Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah Firm for Legal Consultations and Services. With a distinguished background and career in law, Minister Al-Attiyah furthered his education by earning a Master's degree in Public Law in 1999 and a Doctorate in Law in 2006 from Cairo University. Dr. Al-Attiyah also trained as a fighter pilot and served with Qatar's Emiri Air Force for more than five years. Before his appointment as Minister of State for International Cooperation, Dr. Al-Attiyah was a very active member of Qatari public life. From 2003 until 2008 he served as the President of the National Committee for Human Rights.
H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Sada Minister of Energy & Industry
On April 3, 2007, H.E. Dr. Mohammed saleh Al-Sada has been appointed as a cabinet Member and Minister of state for Energy & Industry Affairs. Prior to this cabinet appointment and since August, 2006, H.E. Dr. Mohammed AL-sada was the Managing Director of RasGas Company limited(RasGas) which is the Operating Company for Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company limited, Ras Laffan liquefied natural Gas company limited (II), and Ras Laffan liquefied Natural gas company limited(3). HE Dr.Al-sada has earlier held the position of Director technical at Qatar petroleum where he directed major Oil & Gas and related infrastructure projects. He brings with him wealth of experience with over 23 years service with Qatar petroleum successfully managing various important corporate departments. Within the Energy Industry, he is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Qatar chemical company (Q-Chem) and Qatar Steel Company (QASCO). He is also the chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Metals Coating Company (Q-Coat). H.E.Dr. Al-Sada is an active member of the Qatari community and has served as member of several distinguished committees and organization, including the permanent constitution preparation committee, the supreme education council and the national committee for human rights. His Excellency holds a PhD from the university of Manchester institute of science and Technology (UMIST), in UK, having earlier graduated with a Bachelor of science degree in Marine science and geology, from Qatar university. He is married with 2 daughters and 3 sons.
His Excellency, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman, Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry
Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammad Al-Thani, born in 18 February 1959 in Doha, State of Qatar. He underwent his schooling in Doha and after he went to the United States for higher studies. He graduated in 1981 from Portland State University with a B.Sc in Economics & Political Science.
After his return from the United States, he joined at the Ameri Diwan as the Head of Political Department until mid 1987. In 1987 he was appointed as The Director General of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and he worked until 1993. He led many Trade Delegations during his tenure with Ministry of Economy & Commerce. In 1993, he requested voluntary retirement and since 1993 has not held any official positions with any Governmental Organizations.
Sheikh Khalifa started his family business and he is a well-known businessman and a prominent member of the Ruling Family in the State of Qatar. He is the owner of KJM Contracting & Trading Aluglass, Mideast Data Systems and UPS (Franchise). He focused his business in the lines of Real Estate, Oil & Gas Industry, Communication, Medical, Fire and Safety Systems etc. mainly from United States and European Countries. He is the Board member of Doha Insurance Company.
Currently, he is the Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry Board of Directors since May 16th, 2006.
